TEAM RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES

The challenges faced by the more than 2,500 children and families served by RMHC of Central Ohio at the Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio each year—they are running their own marathons as they fight disease, illness and injury. However, RMHC of Central Ohio is there to provide strength and support to get them through the toughest of times. Team RMHC is a part of this living support system. We run to show RMHC of Central Ohio families that there is strength in numbers—strength in a team of runners passionately raising funds, awareness and advocacy for the Charity. As we train for and run 13.1 or 26.2 miles on October 16 we offer hope, inspiration and compassion for Ronald McDonald House families. For more information about Team RMHC, please contact Ryan Wilkins at Ryan.Wilkins@RMHC-CentralOhio.org or visit their website.

Visit runtoremember.org for more information.

ROC ON (RUN OVER CANCER)

ROC On! (Run Over Cancer) was developed in 2008 by Laurie Dangler, M.D. and her friends and family to increase the public's awareness of the effect of brain cancer and to help raise funds for brain cancer research. The team was formed after Laurie was diagnosed with brain cancer while training to run the Columbus Half Marathon in 2007. ROC on! raises over $15,000.00 each year to support research and continues to grow in members. ROC on! participates in many races across the United States. You do not have to be a runner to join. Many team members walk the races and we will always welcome volunteers to help us with the team.

THE PARTNERSHIP CONTINUES

Nationwide Children’s Hospital is honored to be the title beneficiary for the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus Marathon & 1/2 Marathon for the second year.

The 2013 event raised $1.25 million and counting for Nationwide Children's Hospital in the second year of the partnership. This includes a $200,000 contribution from the Columbus Marathon board of trustees; $100,000 of that contribution will be directed to the Pulmonary Department at Nationwide Children's in honor of long-time Columbus Marathon volunteers Brent and Catherine LaCount and their daughter, Berkley.
